The 12-Step Chakra Self-Care Ritual
Updated April 2026
This is a longer ritual than most — about an hour, end to end. It's designed for one of those weekends when you have time to actually slow down. Done occasionally (once a month is enough), it does what twenty meditation apps can't: it sets the body back to a baseline of calm.
The full ritual kit.
Kanya's Trial Pack has all six chakra body oils — exactly what you need for steps 6–11 below.
Try All Six — $38 →What you need
- A bath or quiet bathroom
- Bath salts (Epsom or a chakra blend like Kanya's Tranquility soak)
- The six chakra body oils (or a Trial Pack)
- A candle
- An optional crystal (rose quartz works for the heart, amethyst for the crown)
- About an hour, undisturbed
The 12 steps
1. Set the space
Tidy briefly. Light the candle. Dim other lights. Phone in another room. The space telling your nervous system that something different is about to happen.
2. Set the intention
One sentence, said out loud or written down: what are you doing this for? Rest. Clarity. Release. Reconnection. Choose one. Don't overthink.
3. Run a warm bath
Add a cup of bath salts. Add 8–10 drops of essential oil if you're using a separate oil. The Tranquility blend works for most ritual contexts.
4. Soak for 20 minutes
Eyes closed. Breathe slowly. The work here is to do nothing. Resist the urge to think; if it comes, return attention to breath.
5. Get out, pat dry
Don't fully dry — leave the skin slightly damp for the next step.
6. Apply the Root Chakra oil — soles of feet, lower back
I Am Grounded. Massage with attention. Silently: I am safe. I am supported.
7. Sacral Chakra oil — lower abdomen, hips
I Am Passionate. I allow myself to feel.
8. Solar Plexus oil — upper abdomen
I Am Confident. I trust myself.
9. Heart Chakra oil — center of chest
I Am Joyful. I am loved. I am loving.
10. Throat Chakra oil — throat, base of neck
I Am Open. I speak my truth.
11. Crown & Third Eye oil — temples, crown of head
I Am Peace. I am connected to something larger than myself.
12. Sit in silence for 10 minutes
Cross-legged on the floor or on a chair. Spine tall. Eyes closed. Don't direct anything. Just let the ritual settle.
How it works
Twelve steps is a lot — that's the point. The repetition is what shifts the nervous system from "doing" mode to "being" mode. By the time you reach step 12, your parasympathetic system is fully engaged, and the silence becomes effortless rather than effortful.
Done monthly, this ritual functions like a hard reset. Done weekly, it becomes a weekly anchor. The choice is yours.
Every Kanya formulation is layered like fine fragrance — the same intentional aromatherapy used in Miraval, Equinox Hotels & Clubs, Four Seasons, and Fairmont. Six chakra-aligned blends, six intentions, one nourishing foundation.
